Willow Springs Orchard

Willow Springs Orchard is a charming family-run orchard nestled in the Perth Hills at Bedfordale, offering one of the few pick-your-own kiwifruit experiences in Western Australia. This hidden gem also grows delicious persimmons, making it a unique destination for fruit lovers looking for something different from the typical strawberry farms.

What You Can Pick

The orchard specialises in kiwifruit with two varieties available during the winter picking season:

• Green Kiwifruit – classic tangy-sweet flavour, available June to August at $6/kg
• Gold Kiwifruit – sweeter, tropical taste, typically June at $5/kg
• Persimmons – rich, honey-sweet fruit available May to June

Pick Your Own sessions run for 45 minutes and are advertised on their Facebook and Instagram pages. Bookings are required – comment on their posts to secure your spot and you will receive a confirmation message.

Pricing

No entry fee – just pay for what you pick! Kiwifruit is priced at $5-6 per kilogram depending on variety. This makes it excellent value for fresh, vine-ripened fruit you won't find at this quality in supermarkets.

Farm Shop & Cafe

Even when PYO isn't running, the Farm Shop is open and well worth a visit:

• Wed, Thurs, Fri: 9am - 3pm
• Weekends: 8:30am - 1pm (with coffee and food)
• Closed: Mondays and Tuesdays

The shop stocks seasonal fruit, vegetables and farm-fresh eggs. On weekends, The Flower Garden Cakery pops up serving locally roasted coffee, hot chocolates, milkshakes, cupcakes and sweets. Free face painting and games keep the kids entertained!

Good to Know

Pick Your Own events are seasonal and sell out quickly – follow their Facebook and Instagram pages closely for announcements. Sessions book via comments on their social media posts. Eftpos is available. The owners personally respond to every review and are known for their excellent customer service.

Pro tip: The Perth Hills location makes this a lovely day trip from the city. Combine your visit with a drive through the scenic Bedfordale area. Arrive at the farm shop early on weekends for the best selection of seasonal produce and to grab a coffee before exploring.
