FarmHop is a guide to Australian pick-your-own farms, built on one simple rule: every listing is checked before it goes up, and updated when the season changes.
Why we built it
Fruit picking is hard to plan
Search for a farm to visit this weekend and you will find plenty of lists. What you will not find is confidence. Directories still send families to farms that closed years ago. Prices quoted online are three seasons old. Many of the best small growers post their opening days on Facebook and nowhere else.
Fruit picking is also unusually fussy. A cherry orchard trades for six weeks a year. Queensland picks strawberries in winter while Victoria waits until summer. Half the farms in any region open only on weekends, and some only when the crop is ready.
FarmHop exists to sort that out. We research each farm one at a time, confirm it is genuinely open to pickers, record what it actually grows and when, and leave out the ones that have quietly stopped. When a farm is out of season or shut for the week, the site says so rather than pretending otherwise.

Every farm is researched individually and confirmed as open to pickers. If we cannot verify it, it does not go on the site.
Family first
Entry prices, opening days, what is ripe this month and whether there are toilets. The practical details that decide whether a day out works.
Support local
Most of these farms are small family operations with a short season. Sending them visitors is the whole point.
