Rolin Farms at Elimbah is the closest long-running pick-your-own strawberry farm to Brisbane, marked from the road by its oversized strawberry sculpture. Queensland picks strawberries through winter, so while southern states are dormant this farm is at its peak, with rows open daily and a farm shop turning out its own ice cream, jam and jumbo chocolate-dipped strawberries.
Picking runs 9am to 3:30pm with the shop open until 4pm, seven days a week in season and daily through school holidays. Everyone entering the fields pays, charged per container rather than a flat entry fee, with children under four free. The farm's old website has lapsed, so Facebook and Instagram carry the current updates; the alternate contact number is 0447 743 057.
Pro tip: Queensland winter is peak strawberry season here, so July and August weekday mornings are the sweet spot.
