Eastern Colour at Applethorpe is the Granite Belt's largest strawberry producer, farmed by the Baronio family who have worked the district since the 1930s. Rather than running fixed weekly hours, the farm opens for pick-your-own event days across the summer and autumn harvest, covering both strawberries and apples.
Picking runs as scheduled event days rather than regular opening hours, and an RSVP is required through the farm's pick-your-own page. Pricing is per tray rather than per person, and dates are announced ahead of each season. The farm also grows stone fruit, broccoli and capsicums commercially, so the picking rows are only one part of a much larger operation.
Pro tip: RSVP as soon as dates appear; event days are capped and the Granite Belt draws visitors from both Brisbane and the border towns.
We list what we have confirmed. If something you need is not shown, it is worth calling the farm to check.
