About This Farm
Paracombe Premium Perry is a certified organic pear orchard at Paracombe that doubles as one of South Australia's few perry cider producers. Its Pear Hunt lets visitors walk the rows at leisure picking several pear varieties, then eat at the on-site Shed Door afterwards.

Good to Know
There is no entry fee; pears are charged at $4/kg and sessions are booked ahead rather than walk-in. Picking has been disrupted recently: the 2025 season was cancelled because of a fruit fly outbreak at Glynde, and no 2026 dates have been published, so check with the orchard before planning a visit. The cidery itself continues to trade.
Pro tip: perry pears are not eating pears, so ask which rows are the dessert varieties before you fill a bag.
