About This Farm
Ancara Estate on Coldstore Road at Lenswood is a fully netted orchard growing twelve sweet cherry varieties, from early Stella and Chelan through to late Sweetheart and Rainier. Carolyn and Andrzej Aleksandrowicz bought the orchard at the end of the 2021 season, taking over from the Burke family who traded here as Cheron Cherries, and deliberately run it for picking rather than commercial export.

Good to Know
Recent seasons ran at $5 entry per person plus $16/kg for fruit picked, with buckets provided, EFTPOS available and no bookings required; the estate has not yet confirmed 2026/27 pricing. The season is short and weather dependent, so watch the season updates page, which currently reads "Cherry Season 2026, coming soon".
Pro tip: ask which of the twelve varieties is ripe on the day; Rainier and Sweetheart are worth timing a visit around.
