Beerenberg Farm

Beerenberg Farm at Hahndorf has been in the Paech family since 1839, and while most Australians know the name from the jam jars, the farm itself runs one of the country's most popular strawberry patches. It sits barely half an hour from the Adelaide CBD, with a farm shop, cafe and farm-made ice cream alongside the picking rows.

Good to Know

Entry is $5 per person with children 12 and under free, paid at the farm shop where you collect a wristband and container; picked fruit is weighed separately. The patch opens almost daily in season from 9am with last entry at 4.15pm, but it can close mid-day when picked out, so check the website, which updates the patch status each morning at 9am. There is limited shade and no animals are allowed in the patch.

Pro tip: check the 9am patch update before leaving home; the drive is short but the patch does sell out.
