Swan Valley Sisters

Swan Valley Sisters is an organic and biodynamic orchard on Gnangara Road at Henley Brook, and its winter citrus picking fills a gap almost nothing else in Perth covers. Oranges, lemons and mandarins come off the trees from July through September, and the property also runs a small produce cafe and four self-contained chalets.

Good to Know

There is no entry charge; you pay by the kilo at the shed for what you pick, with past seasons quoting $3 to $4 per kilo for citrus. Bookings are essential and picking runs Saturday and Sunday mornings, 8am to 12.30pm, through the winter window. The orchard is grown organically and biodynamically, which is unusual for the Swan Valley.

Pro tip: winter citrus picking is one of the few things running in Perth between the stone fruit and strawberry seasons.
