Swan Street Vineyard, trading as The Old Shed, is a five acre organic vineyard at Henley Brook built around a hand-restored 1968 grape drying shed. Picking covers wine grapes, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, and figs from late January into early March, while the shed sells citrus, avocados, loquats, eggs, honey and preserves through the year.
There is no charge to walk the vineyard; you pay per kilo for the grapes you pick. Open weekends only, 8am to 3pm, by appointment through winter from June to August, and closed on most long weekends. The owners ask visitors to message ahead so they can say when the grapes and figs are ripe.
Pro tip: these are wine grapes rather than table grapes, so they are small, intense and best for juice or jam.
