Carmel Cherry Farm in the Perth Hills runs one of the better value cherry sessions in the state: $10 gets an adult into the orchard for an hour, kids come free, and you can eat as many cherries as you like while you are in there. Anything you want to take home is weighed at the end.
Bookings are mandatory and made through the farm's Facebook page; the farm is clear that you cannot turn up without one. Entry is $10 per adult with children free, which covers a one hour picking session, and fruit you take home is charged by the kilo on top. The cherry window is short, so watch their page from late October.
Pro tip: the eat-all-you-like rule makes this a genuinely good value morning out with kids.
