The Orchard at Montague is the home orchard of Montague, one of Australia's biggest fruit companies, at Narre Warren North beside Lysterfield Park. Picking here runs as a guided 40-minute Pick-Your-Own Fruit and Orchard Tour, with a kilogram of fruit included in every ticket, and the site also hosts Bill's Orchard Gate farm shop and the Stella's Kitchen restaurant.
Tours cost $20 for adults (13+) and $10 for children 6-12, 5 and under free, with an automatic family-of-four discount, and each ticket includes 1kg of picked fruit. Tours run weekends at 9.30am and 11.30am in season and must be booked online at least 24 hours ahead. The shop and restaurant open daily. Between tours, the farm shop sells the orchard's fruit alongside Montague's broader range, Stella's Kitchen serves a full menu overlooking the trees, and the Lysterfield Park trails next door make it easy to build a full day around a morning tour.
Pro tip: the December stone fruit tours are the pick of the calendar; book the 9.30am slot before the heat.
