Sunny Creek Organic Berry Farm sits high in the Strzelecki Ranges at Trafalgar South in Gippsland, about 90 minutes east of Melbourne. Phil Rowe and Cathie Taylor have spent more than 30 years building a certified-organic collection of over a hundred varieties, including 40 kinds of raspberries in reds, golds, pinks and purples.
Berry picking runs December to April at $20/kg:
Farm gate entry is $12 for adults and $8 for children (2-12; under 2 free). Bring your own containers and sturdy shoes; this is a working hillside farm, not a manicured attraction. Open 9am-5pm daily through the December-January school holidays (closed Christmas Day); at other times phone ahead to confirm what's ripe and book your visit. Gumboots are a good idea early in the season, when the hillside tracks can stay damp after rain.
Pro tip: late summer is raspberry heaven, so ask which unusual varieties are ripe.
We list what we have confirmed. If something you need is not shown, it is worth calling the farm to check.
