Otway Blueberries

Otway Blueberries is a family farm at Gellibrand in the Otway Ranges hinterland, growing 100% pesticide-free blueberries since 1994. Six to seven hectares of netted Brigitta and Northland bushes sit in a quiet bush setting, and the no-fuss format has made it a summer institution for Colac and Great Ocean Road holidaymakers.

Good to Know

There is no entrance fee; just turn up with your own containers and pick, with a minimum of 1kg per adult. Open daily 9am-5pm in season, including public holidays. Cash and cards accepted. Bus and tour groups should book a couple of weeks ahead; everyone else can simply arrive and start picking. The bush setting means birdlife and the odd kangaroo keep early pickers company, and the mature bushes carry heavy crops through the peak weeks, so even large groups fill their buckets quickly. Allow an hour or two; the rows are long and the picking is steady rather than rushed.

Pro tip: the netted rows stay comfortable even on hot days, and February fruit is the sweetest.
