Naturipe Fruit Farm sits on Bacchus Marsh's historic tree-lined Avenue of Honour, less than an hour west of Melbourne. This family-run farm has made the town a favourite destination for pick-your-own, with a long season that rolls from spring strawberries right through to winter apples.
Entry depends on the fruit: strawberry picking is $10 for adults (includes 500g of berries) and $5 for children (includes 250g); cherry picking is $8/$5; and entry is free for peach, nectarine and apple picking; you simply pay by weight. Open roughly 9am-5pm when fruit is available, no bookings needed. Availability changes daily, so check the picking update on the website before you drive out. Buckets are supplied at the entrance, and picked fruit is weighed at the shed on the way out.
Pro tip: tree fruit season (free entry, $3.50-4/kg) is one of the best-value picking outings near Melbourne.
