Monbulk Blueberry Farm, formerly known as Mountain Blueberries, sits on its own Blueberry Lane in the Dandenong Ranges about an hour from Melbourne. It is a small, old-fashioned operation: pre-picked punnets at the farm gate for passers-by, and u-pick sessions for its registered customer list in summer.
U-pick is limited to registered customers: email the farm to join the list before the season starts, then book your session. Bring cash, as there is no EFTPOS on site. Prices for picking are confirmed at booking rather than published, and the farm gate runs on the honesty of a true small family business. The farm gate runs on simplicity: punnets picked that morning and no queues, while u-pick sessions are scheduled for when the crop peaks, which keeps the picking generous for those on the list. Punnets sell quickly on weekend mornings in the peak weeks.
Pro tip: register in spring; the u-pick list fills before the December flush.
Not available here: EFTPOS.
We list what we have confirmed. If something you need is not shown, it is worth calling the farm to check.
