Emily Hill Farm is a certified organic farm (Australian Certified Organic 3147A) at Dewhurst near Emerald, where the Keon-Cohen family has grown blueberries since 1983. Alongside the u-pick blueberries, the farm gate sells organic lemons, limes, rhubarb, garlic and house-made jams, marmalades and cordials, and even blueberry plants to take home for your own backyard.
There is no entry fee, but each visitor aged 16 and over picks or pays for at least 1kg. Pre-register for u-pick via the website before visiting; picking days vary, and the farm asks visitors to text rather than call. Cards and cash accepted. Bring your own containers, and leave pets at home. GPS directions can be unreliable, so check the directions on the website before setting out. The FarmGate shop also carries the farm's own garlic and seasonal vegetables when available, and the house-made jams and cordials are produced from fruit grown on the property, all under the same organic certification as the blueberries.
Pro tip: certified organic blueberries at $25/kg cost roughly half what they do in an organic grocer.
