Cherry Haven is a family-owned u-pick cherry orchard perched on a hillside at Wandin East, with sweeping views over the Yarra Valley less than an hour from Melbourne. With more than 30 varieties of cherries planted across the orchard, every visit offers something different as varieties ripen in waves through the season.
Entry includes all-you-can-eat cherries while you are in the orchard, plus bucket hire and a picking demonstration to get you started.
Entry is about $20 for adults and $10 for children (4-13), with children 3 and under free; weekday entry has historically been cheaper than weekends. Pick more than 5kg per person and you earn a free entry card for your next visit. No pre-booking is required; the farm opens roughly 9am-5pm on weekends and 10am-4pm on weekdays during the season, which depends on the crop, so check their website or socials for opening announcements.
Pro tip: the season is short, so aim for early December when the most varieties overlap.
