Buninyong Blueberry Farm

Buninyong Blueberry Farm is one of Victoria's original blueberry farms, established in 1982 on the Midland Highway just south of Buninyong, ten minutes from Ballarat. The farm grows both commercial-grade and prime dessert-grade varieties, and summer picking under the shade trees has been a Ballarat family tradition for four decades.

Good to Know

Enter from Innes Lane off the Midland Highway rather than the highway itself. Season dates and prices are announced on the farm's Facebook page each summer, so check before travelling. Weekend opening hours extend once the season is in full swing. Picking is relaxed and unhurried, with buckets provided and no minimum beyond what you choose to take home. The bushes range from head-height old plantings to younger rows, so both adults and children find fruit at a comfortable level. Summer weekends are the busiest window, and weekday mornings offer the quietest picking of the season.

Pro tip: dessert-grade varieties are the ones to ask for; they rarely make it to shops.
