Blue Hills Berries & Cherries sits at the foothills of the Dandenong Ranges in Silvan, where the Chapman family has farmed since 1894. Today the farm spans a berry orchard and two cherry orchards, making it one of the Yarra Valley's most popular summer picking spots.
All picking is all-you-can-eat while you're in the orchard, with takeaway fruit weighed on exit.
Berry picking entry is $15 for adults and $7.50 for children (5-14; under 5 free) and runs walk-up, no booking needed. Cherry picking is priced separately ($18-20 adults depending on the orchard, including bucket hire) and must be booked online. The season runs roughly November to April, 9am-4.30pm daily; check the farm's fruit report before visiting. Picnic tables under the trees make it easy to stretch a visit across lunch.
Pro tip: come early in December for cherries, blueberries and strawberries all in one visit.
